ALMOND POUND CAKE

Servings: About 12

Ingredients:
3 cups cake flour
1 tablespoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 tube almond paste, crumbled
1-¾ cup sugar
¾: cup butter or margarine, softened
4 large eggs
1/3 cup sliced almonds

Directions:
Combine flour, baking powder and salt in bowl. In another bowl, combine milk and vanilla.

In food processor, combine almond paste and sugar. Beat in butter. Beat on high about 5 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time. Add flour mixture and milk alternatively.

Pour into a 10-inch tube pan, greased and floured. Sprinkle almonds on top. Bake in a 350 oven for 60-65 minutes, until tester comes out clean.
