Servings: 4 servings

315 calories per 4-1/2 oz serving

4 lean boneless pork chops, trimmed of fat
2 tbsp Tamari (or light soy sauce)
1 tsp cornstarch or flour
1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 tsp each of rosemary, thyme, tarragon, oregano, sage and basil
Freshly ground pepper, to taste

Trim fat from pork chops. Puncture chops with fork all over. Rub well with cornstarch.

Combine Tamari sauce, herbs, garlic and pepper in shallow dish. Place chops in dish and coat both sides with marinade. Marinate at least 2 hours, preferably overnight. Turn chops several times while marinating.

Cover dish with foil and bake in 350 degree oven for 30-45 minutes, depending on thickness of chops. Add water or dry white wine if liquid evaporates.

Pour sauce over chops and serve.
